Hi all conference attendees...
Stefan Merten just posted something on the conference organizers
list; I wondered if anybody had any comments? Below is my edited
babelfish version; I've appended the original german in case anything got
badly mangled in the process...

at this conference in the conference that the relationship to the

My comment on this was that it might be helpful to merge the
english-language track with the rest by linking talks by topic, not
language, and to provide (short!) abstracts for all talks in both
languages in advance, so people knew what they might be interested in,
but that I couldn't see a better solution for the tranlsation problem.
Does anyone have any better ideas, or other comments?

Ich hatte an zwei Stellen den Eindruck, dass es eine Konferenz in der
Konferenz gab. Das erste war der englische Track, wo wohl einige
Deutsche saßen, aber die Englischsprachigen wohl eher nicht in den
deutschen Veranstaltungen waren. Nun, das ist auch nachvollziehbar und
ein Problem der Sprachbarriere. Wie es mit den Übersetzungen geklappt
hat, kann ich nicht sagen, da ich nicht so drauf geachtet habe.
Vielleicht kann da jemensch über seine Wahrnehmungen was sagen? Auch
wenn die Sprachbarriere sicher ein Problem ist, so hatte ich bei
dieser Konferenz in der Konferenz aber doch das Gefühl, dass der Bezug
zum Rest sehr klar war und in privaten Diskussionen auch stark rüber
kam, wie der Zusammenhang zwischen dem Publikum der deutschsprachigen
Beiträge und dem Publikum der englischsprachigen Beiträge war.
