Yes, I can see it now too. They were hosted in the US, by Datapipe.  
Datapipe dropped them and tried (illegally I think) to sell the domain
name. At one point they were going to move to Sweden, but it looks like
they've ended up in France now (at least from a traceroute on that IP
address)

I jumped to an over-complicated conspiracy theory too quickly ... :-(
