Hi

I'm a bit confused here...

Your use of value here is the same as the amount of labour
time used to produce, reproduce and maintain it? From you
prespective does labout time = value?

Yes, in my publications I treat value as being strictly equivalent
to the social labour required for reproduction.

Empirically in capitalist economies there is a very strong
correlation between this and the exchange value or market
price of commodities except in those industries where
monopoly factors intervene. But value is a prior concept
since it is relevant in a non-capitalist economy as well.
Goods in a planned economy may have no market price
but they still have a value - they have cost labour to make.

'Labour is the original currency with which we purchase
all our wants and necessities from nature ' (Adam Smith)

What about use value and exchange value? It appears to me
that free software has next to no exchange value yet
almost infinite use value.

Use value is not a scalar measure, so it does not make sense to
describe it as almost infinite.
