Re: [ox-en] role of science and universities

hi thomas, hi graham,

co-incidently, and as an aside to the main thrust of this thread, i have recently used the word 'Peripatetic' to try and describe the composition of workers on a particular project

i first came across this term in civil engineering - it is used sometimes to describe the itinerant work-nature of construction staff

my dictionary tells me that 'Peripatetic' has 2 definitions:

i) going from place to place on one's business, and
ii) aristotelian [ from aristotle's custom of walking while teaching ]
