It is all on debian-news: http://lists.debian.org/debian-news/

Thanks Benni - but I can't see anything targetted at end-users there.
It all seems to be aimed at debian developers.

When I try to use

http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages

I get:

packages.debian.org is down at the moment.

Please see this announcement for more details. We apologize for any
inconvenience and hope to have service restored as soon as possible.

But 'this announcement' says :

November 21st, 2003

This is a very unfortunate incident to report about. Some Debian servers
were found to have been compromised in the last 24 hours.

The archive is not affected by this compromise!

etc.
I can't see anything to give any idea of when it is hoped to make packages
available again.

Obviously, I must be completely missing something or there would be a
lot of complaints on the mailing lists from other people in the same
situation.

Graham
