that is indeed a very valuable source. thx for bringing it up. i ran over the paper and your summary and there is lots of good thoughts and insights into it. will need to spend more on it.

The main message to me is: Never
ever fund the volunteers working on the project's core goals unless
you want to turn the project in a non-Free one.

well, what we want to achieve is production of content where there is no need to pay for acces, where artists as well as other people get some money in exchange for their work and where (competing) artists generally can build and re-use existing works. so, while the goals are similar, i guess its not a free project in the sense many people inhere are advocating. nevertheless, there are still many interesting points that deserve attention.

but again, many thx for bringing up this very valuable piece of information.
