Re: Annuals (was: Re: [ox-en] Oekonux 2.0?)

Hi Athina,

can you keep track of this in a page somewhere?

perhaps you can introduce a system here: include Hull every 2 years, i.e.
every fourth event, that helps with the planning

Barcelona's citilab is candidate as well (may offer free use of facilities)

for thailand, I will look up with Adam, the use of euro-asia funds,

Michel

whatever you guys want and feel comfortable with

my main concern is to have time to do a conference call and get funding, so
march would be a good time to inaugurate p2prg, , and then oekonux can go
next march 2011 (thats 2 years after this one), we can have anotehr
conference in nov 2010 for p2prg/p2pfoundation

so perhaps it could be like this i am juyst throwing ideas

March 2010 p2prg/p2pfoundation - for Inauguration of P2Presearch Group (to
be held in Hull)
Nov 2010 p2prg/p2pfoundation (to be held Salford?)
Nov 2011 p2prg/p2pfoundation (to be held Thailand?) then March 2011 with
Oekonux (to be held Austria?)
Nov 2012 p2prg/p2pfoundation (to be held Hull again?)
Nov 2013 p2prg/p2pfoundation then March 21013 with Oekonux

i think some of this decisions can be taken in the inauguration of the
group in March and see what other people think if they can host what events
as well

from hull we can host as much as our funding enables us to, which is not
completely clear at the moment, we need to apply for more funding as well
cheers

Hi Athina,
I understand from Stefan that March 2010 would be too early for Oekonux,
but not for the P2P-F ..

(though I'm sorry to hear that in a way, as I would have loved to have one
for us in 2009, so as to keep the 2-year rhythm going, but oh well <g>,
we're all doing what we can)

So we that change, then perhaps november 2010 could be oekonux?

Stefan?

Hi

What I would propose I am not sure if its the same with michel's, if it
is, then apologies, I must be confusing altermative with alternate

anyway what i see very feasible

is P2PResearch group helping both p2pfoundation and oekonux, plus any
other community in the future as we expand. The idea would be to have a
P2PResearch Group conference every november and every two years the p2prg
can help have an okoenux one in march

so it could look sth like this to speak of dates etc

March 2010 p2prg/p2pfoundation/oekonux - Inauguration of P2Presearch
Group (nov is too soon to get abstracts in time and organize funding)
Nov 2010 p2prg/p2pfoundation
Nov 2011 p2prg/p2pfoundation then March 2011 with Oekonux
Nov 2012 p2prg/p2pfoundation
Nov 2013 p2prg/p2pfoundation then March 21013 with Oekonux

and so on

we can then as individuals to bid in for holding conferences in their
universities/countries if we know what we are doing

i am trying to collate a feedback from the questionnaire to see what
people want from a P2PRG
can those of you that havent responded do so? it is attached here

cheers

I meant a book for the Oekonux Annual ... a kind of best of of both
essays and blog articles, that would gradually cover all the basic elements,
around certain themes ...

It could also be a co-publication with the p2p-foundation.

Each year, both organisations could nominate one lead editor for each
...

As for below,

I think there is something to that proposition, every alternative year,
the P2PRG, which could fund some trips, could coincide with the conferences
of our org's. But both org's could be associated each year with the P2PRG
meeting, and then alternative, every other year would organise the
conference before or after the P2PRG academic meetup

But I want to let Athina take the lead in that,

she's in cc therefore,

Michel

Wow! This would be really soon! Can you give us an idea about the
format? Any idea about possible cooperation? What about this setup:
One year a conference by the P2P Foundation in cooperation with
Oekonux and one year an Oekonux Conference in cooperation with the P2P
Foundation? But you said that it exists apart from P2P Foundation...

From: mathieu coombs.anu.edu.au

a) The [ox] Annual Award is a really good idea - good way to
publicise
[ox] and some other project.

I don't get it. Could you outline the idea more?
