Re: [ox-en] so long, and thanks for all the fish

I would to God that the members of this list would show the
same respect to the differing criteria and membership
decisions of other collectives, though they be large as a
state, or small as a newly-wed couple.

I don't think it is a good idea to apply this "right" to a state at all. Should Kansas have the right to reject people from Nebraska?

If the majority of people in Kansas didn't want people from Nebraska to
enter their territory, they should have the right to enforce that.

Collectives also have rights. The rights of collectives are often
denigrated because those psychopathic collectives known as
"corporations" have taken full rights, but disavowed all responsibility.
Ordinary collectives require rights to fulfill their responsibilities,
just as individuals require rights, but also have responsibilities.

Rights can never be meaningfully talked about without considering
corresponding reponsibilities, obligations, and relationships to other
entities.

Also, I think the couple fits in here, as it is a matter of sympathy -- you cannot exspect people to be your friend.

It works for two people; it works for ten people; it works for thousands
and millions of people. Reciprocity and mutual self-respect can make
any society hum a happy tune. Those societies that exclude beneficial
persons will suffer, and those societies that are more open will get the
benefits.  Knowing that, I find it hard to take these things personally;
in the great game of life, super-personal entities are born, make their
own ways, and eventually die. I am part of the Debian collective and
that satisfies my need to be part of something bigger than myself.

Well, if you like the topic of this project, feel free to come back. But please under a pseudonyme, in order not to scre the naziphobes here.

I wish the Oekonux collective all the best, but I plan to respect the
will of the collective by staying away until invited back. I am a real
person with a real name; my days of anonymous experimentation are long
over. Thank you for the invitation though; it was a kind gesture.
