what do other thinks about including, or not, the sharing platforms?

whatever you (plural) decide, is fine, I made my point on it,

Michel

Hi Michel and all!

2 weeks (15 days) ago Michel Bauwens wrote:
I noticed that in earlier calls we had a description of the Oekonux
project. Is this (still?) necessary (if so this time probably
accompanied by a description of the P2P Foundation).

This should be added at the bottom I think, 2-3 lines for each
organization.

Ok. I added your lines and

About Project Oekonux: In Project Oekonux different people with
different opinions and different methods study the economic and
political forms of Free Software and other peer production
phenomenons. An important question is, whether the principles peer
production may be the foundation of a new economy which may be the
base for a new society.

Yuwei changed this to

       * Social Networking Sites (Facebook, Flickr, YouTube and the
like)

I know Xing best which is probably a pure social networking site. IMHO
social networking sites are not a peer production phenomenon because
there is nothing produced. Similar argument would apply to Orkut,
StudiVZ and probably also Facebook.

I think there are different things: real commons-oriented collaboration
like
LInux and Wikipedia; platforms for sharing individual or group
expression,
like youtube and flickr, and social networking sites, used for
internetworking and collaboration.

Ok.

The latter are tools to create social
objects together.

But these "social objects" are only useful for those who produced
them, aren't they.

Though they are all different, it's all about creating
common value together ...

Well, can you imagine an human activity done together which does not
create common value? [...thinking...] I think the difference really is
whether the things produced are of potential use to anyone beyond
those who created it - and I'm thinking of non-alienated use, not
commercialized use like exploiting network information for targeting
ads.

Well, IMHO social networking sites should be not included in the
conference. But if for you, Michel, it is important I'd not veto it.
What do others think?

  * Peer production platforms like Flickr and YouTube

I would call this "sharing platforms" as most people use their own
creative
expression , they do not use these sites to 'produce' something in
common

Good point. Changed it.

* Peer production and capitalism

 * General relationship

what does this mean?

I had some difficulties with the structure and finding enough points
to justify a super point. What I meant here was

* Theoretical approaches on their relationship

Changed it that way.

* Peer governance

 * Peer governance in general

2 times? redundtant?

Similar as above. I meant

* Theoretical approaches to governance in peer production

Changed it that way.

 * Peer ownership

Different modalies of xx ?

I don't understand your point.

Below is the list of points as it is now in the Wiki.

The only open point I see at the moment is the point about social
networking sites. If this is clarified we are done with the CfC.
