Re: [ox-en] hackers v 'politicians'

Graham
Thanks for posting this. I have been reading CyberMarx recently and I am frustrated by the way in which many of those on thre "left" ignore the potentialities of open source etc etc and focus only on the potential of technology to allow "activists" to better communicate thus not even considering the ideas of organisation and production considered here on this list. Sometimes it seems that the "theorists" of the US liberal type consider the new forms of organisation (and as I inferred the other day how they can be captured/alienated) and those of the left, whether traditonal or autonomist consider how existing or new activist/protest movements or netwroks can communicate better. both seem to miss what many here see as the importnat point.
Have you talked about this on the list previously?
Thanks
Martin

Hi,

I just found an article quoting oekonux messages as part of an interesting
comparison between hackers and activists and the limitations of their
interaction. I'm not sure when it was published, it may be old to others
but I hadn't seen it before:

PS Has anyone read Andre' Gorz's 'L'immaterial: connaisance, valeur et
capital', which also quotes Stefan Merten as well as going over a lot of oekonux themes? What did you think of it?
